Кваме Энтони Аппиа (англ. Kwame Anthony Appiah; род. 8 мая 1954 году, Лондон, Великобритания) — американский философ, культуролог, писатель ганского происхождения[4]. Занимается вопросами политической философии, философии языка, африканской интеллектуальной истории, расовой теории, семантики, морали.

Биография

Отец — ашанти Джозеф Эммануэль Аппиа, дипломат, в 1977—78 годах представлял Гану в ООН, мать — англичанка Пегги Криппс, оба аристократического происхождения. Детство провёл в Кумаси, получил среднее и высшее образование в Англии.

Мать — британская аристократка Пегги Аппиа[en], урожденная Криппс, дочь Стаффорда Криппса[прим. 1].

В настоящее время[прояснить] является профессором философии Нью-Йоркского университета.

Семья

Открытый гей[5]. Находится в браке с постоянным партнером.
